PAID HOLIDAYS
Full-time College employees are paid for regular holidays according to their term of employment. Under certain conditions, an employee may not be paid for a holiday, but if a paraprofessional works on a holiday, they will receive extra pay.

Observation of Holidays
For full-time employees working a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, holidays will be observed on the day they occur unless they occur on a weekend. If a holiday falls on Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday.
Employees may observe special religious holidays with the advance approval of their supervisor. The employee can take such a day off as personal or vacation leave or as leave without pay.
Unpaid Holidays
The College will not pay employees for holidays that:
- Precede the first day worked after being hired,
- Occur during a leave without pay.
Also, in order to receive holiday pay, a terminating employee must work at least one day subsequent to the holiday.
Paraprofessionals Working on a Holiday
If a supervisor requires a non-exempt full-time paraprofessional to work on a regularly scheduled holiday, that employee will receive twice the normal pay for that work. If that employee does not report to work, pay for that holiday will be forfeited unless the absence is excused by the supervisor.
