BOARD LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM
Reference: WCCC Chapter 8, Sect 6(a)(b)
The Board of Trustees is committed to working effectively with elected representatives at all levels to further the cause of the College.
The Board must operate within the bounds of state and federal law affecting education at the community college level. If the Board is to meet its responsibilities to the residents and students, it must work vigorously for the passage for new laws designed to advance the cause of progressive community college education and for the repeal or modification of existing laws that impede this cause.
To this end:
- The Board will work for the achievement of common legislative objectives through the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees.
- The Board will seek both direct and indirect representation of its positions on pending legislation with appropriate state and federal legislators and legislative committees.
- The Board, or its designee(s), will meet periodically with legislators from the College’s service area to present concerns and proposals.
