Resident Assistants help supervise residents, develop a sense of community, and create fun events. RAs receive free housing and a scholarship while holding an RA position. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a positive role model for all students. 
  • Participate in RA Training two weeks prior to each semester. 
  • Several different administrative duties. 
  • Community Development and Resident Support. 
  • Plan and execute housing events. 
  • Desk shifts on weekdays and weekends. 

Fill out the Western Resident Assistant Application.

Qualified Individuals will be notified about interview dates and times after applications are reviewed by the hiring committee. Not all individuals may be selected for an interview.

Hi everyone, my name is Hagen DeWitt and I am the Head Resident Assistant here at Western. I am from Lyman Wyoming and I am a general studies major with a business focus. I love being an RA because I love being apart of a department here that is so directly connected to students like me. Helping every have the best time is my goal. My biggest advice for students is to use the resources that the college has. Everyone has the goal to help you succeed. I hope every has a great semester and doesn't hesitate to reach out for anything.

My name is Dallin Hoopes, I'm from Lyman Wyoming, and I'm Majoring in Musical Theater. I like being an RA because it has a lot of benefits, and it really helps you get out of your shell! It gives a sense of belonging and gives you the chance to help others around campus! In my free time, I love sports, gaming, and hanging out with my friends. Hi! My name is Tanah Boglino, and I am from Mountain View, WY. My major is Secondary Education with a focus in English, and I hope to become a high school English teacher. I like being a resident assistant because it has given me an amazing opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors or reading. Hey there! My name is Lily and I am a Psychology major! I am hoping to pursue Research Psychology in the future. I am from Mountain View, Wyoming. I love being an RA because I can meet new people and make friends. Some of my hobbies are video games, dungeons and dragons, drawing maps, singing, playing guitar, and reading fantasy books. One piece of advice I would like to give to any new or returning students trying to find their way is to get involved. Even if you have no interest in an event, go to it and make friends. You don't have to participate in the event to build relationships with people and enjoy your college life. This is the time to build your mom/dad lore!

I am Maclaine Percival from Kaysville, Utah, and I’m currently majoring in Business Management. I really enjoy being a Resident Assistant (RA) because it gives me the chance to connect with lots of people and make new friends. In my free time, you’ll find me wrestling, working out, hiking, fishing, hunting, or diving into a good book. I also have a tendency to talk a lot—one of my favorite pastimes! My advice to fellow students is to find a good study spot and force yourself to stick to your homework. It makes a world of difference.

Hi! I’m Emmalee Allen and I’m from Lyman, Wyoming. I am in the nursing program here at Western. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, singing, playing piano and ukulele, swimming, and hanging out with friends and family! My advice would be to explore what’s available on campus and use your resources! Game rooms are open, and activities and events are hosted as a great way to create memories and build friendships.
