Become a Resident Assistant!
Resident Assistants help supervise residents, develop a sense of community, and create fun events. RAs receive free housing and a scholarship while holding an RA position. Responsibilities include:
- Serve as a positive role model for all students.
- Participate in RA Training two weeks prior to each semester.
- Several different administrative duties.
- Community Development and Resident Support.
- Plan and execute housing events.
- Desk shifts on weekdays and weekends.
Fill out the Western Resident Assistant Application.
Qualified Individuals will be notified about interview dates and times after applications are reviewed by the hiring committee. Not all individuals may be selected for an interview.
Hi everyone, my name is Hagen DeWitt and I am the Head Resident Assistant here at Western. I am from Lyman Wyoming, and I am a general studies major with a business focus. I love being an RA because I love being a part of a department here that is so directly connected to students like me. Helping everyone have the best time is my goal. My biggest advice for students is to use the resources that the college has. Everyone has the goal to help you succeed. I hope every has a great semester and doesn't hesitate to reach out for anything.
Hi! I’m Charlotte Fowler and I am from Green River Wyoming. I am majoring in Health Science with a focus on radiology after. I like being an RA because I enjoy helping people. One thing I like to do in my free time is bake! Some advice for all students' is don’t be afraid to ask questions and go to the events, it’s not as intimidating as you think!
My name is Dallin Hoopes, I'm from Lyman Wyoming, and I'm Majoring in Musical Theater. I like being an RA because it has a lot of benefits, and it really helps you get out of your shell! It gives a sense of belonging and gives you the chance to help others around campus! In my free time, I love sports, gaming, and hanging out with my friends. One piece of advice I have for other students is don't be afraid to ask the RAs or Security for help! We're here to help!
Hi! My name is Tanah Boglino, and I am from Mountain View, WY. My major is Secondary Education with a focus in English, and I hope to become a high school English teacher. I like being a resident assistant because it has given me an amazing opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors or reading. My advice would be to always get out of your comfort zone and put yourself in a position that allows you to meet new people! :)
My name is Peyton Van Dusen, I am from Mountain View, WY and I am a Nursing major. I like being an RA because I have always liked to help people so being an RA gives me the perfect opportunity to do so. I like being outdoors and meeting new people. One piece of advice that I would give to other students to remember that even when school gets hard, other people are going through the same thing, so always remember to stay positive and push through.
Hello, my name is Nick and I am from Pinedale, WY. I am currently studying computer science because I love working with technology. I love being an RA because I get to meet a lot of new people and make new friends! In my free time, I love to hang out with friends, listen to music, and play video games! A piece of advice I have is to go out to all of the events because they are a lot of fun and you can meet a bunch of new people!
Hi, my name is McKynleigh Barney! I am a freshman here at Western majoring in Social Science with a focus in Social Work. Hanging out with my friends, reading, and painting are some of my favorite things to do. I am an RA here on campus and am enjoying every minute of it! I love to get to know others and make connections with my team and my residents. My advice for new students is to get involved. Go to activities, join clubs, and make new friends while in college! My name is Luke Schroeder. I am an RA here at Western. I am a Freshman and I'm from Mendon, Utah. I'm currently working towards my bachelor's in business management. I'm a member of the wrestling team here as well. Many people see me as someone who is always willing to help out. I believe I am someone others can rely on. One of the reasons I enjoy the opportunity to be an RA is it opens up more opportunities to help others in small ways. My goal is to make meaningful relationships and grow in my skills as an individual so I can be a better ambassador for good in the world. I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting you on campus! Hello, my name is Hunter Daley I’m a first-time RA. I'm from Cody, Wyoming and my field of study is Health Science. I like being an RA because I feel more connected to the college and other students on campus. My biggest tip is not to be afraid to use all the amenities that Western offers and ask for help when you need it, you pay for it so take advantage of what is offered. It is a privilege to get to work with and help other students.
Hi I am Ahlianna Billman. I am studying Health Science. I like being able to help those around me adjust to college life. I love to play soccer, lift, and do almost anything outside. Don’t stay in your room all the time!
Hi! I’m Emmalee Allen and I’m from Lyman, Wyoming. I am in the nursing program here at Western. I love helping on the RA team - it’s a place where creativity, fun, and connection are merged to create an amazing atmosphere. Some so many fun events and friends come from working with the RA team. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, singing, playing piano and ukulele, swimming, and hanging out with friends and family! My advice would be to explore what’s available on campus and use your resources! Game rooms are open, and activities and events are hosted as a great way to create memories and build friendships.
