The accessibility program is dedicated to promoting full participation and benefits for students with disabilities in all activities and programs in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This program is available for all qualifying students with a disability who need classroom, testing, or housing accommodations. Accommodations are available for all courses whether they be on campus, online, or through outreach centers.

Please note that persons seeking accommodations for placement testing should contact the Accessibility Specialist in the Office of Wellbeing & Accessibility. However, persons seeking accommodations for standardized tests, such as the ACT, Pearson View, etc., must apply for accommodations through the testing company.

The Accessibility Specialist will work with each student to determine their qualifications for services based on the documentation provided.

To apply for accommodations:

Call 307-382-1652 or stop by Wellbeing & Accessibility, Room 1227, to make an appointment and request an application packet.
Bring your completed application and documentation of the disability for which you are seeking accommodation to your appointment. This may be an IEP, 504 plan, or a diagnosis from a health care provider.

Often students are unsure of their disability status. Disabilities vary for each individual. At times disabilities are lifelong and at other times are temporary. They can also be visible, but most often many disabilities are unseen such as learning disabilities, mental health, or health conditions.

If you received accommodations in the past through a 504 or IEP, or if you have a diagnosed disability or condition for which you need accommodation, please contact us. We can help identify if you meet criteria for classroom, testing, and/or housing accommodations.

Yes, we forward all approved reasonable accommodations to instructors however, it is the students responsibility to assure that the instructor knows about their intent to enact accommodations.

Yes, the only thing shared with instructors are your accommodations. Your disability and any information regarding your disability is confidential and not shared with anyone.

Students can apply at any time. In fact, this is a good step to take prior to the beginning of school as it sometimes takes up to two weeks to fully process accommodations. It is best to apply and have accommodations in place when you need them.

No, Students may choose when they want to use their accommodations. The important thing is to communicate with your instructors when you do want to enact them.
