General Studies

Western’s General Studies Degree is a program which provides students with a highly flexible degree and the chance to explore a variety of opportunities at Western while meeting their academic and professional goals.

The general studies program is ideal for students who:

  • Have not decided on a specific major,
  • Are interested in exploring multiple careers or majors,
  • Are interested in a degree or career that is not offered at Western and plan on transferring to a 4-year university,
  • Would like to create their own program specific for their individual needs and goals,
  • Have already taken significant college credit and would like to complete their associate degree.

Western has both an A.A. and A.S. degree in General Studies. Both degrees can be completed either on Western's campus or online.
