Internships and Clubs
Engineering Science Club (ESC) - This club provides students with the opportunity to develop their skills as scientists and engineering by focusing their collective efforts on the planning, design, and construction of engineering projects. Students generally organize and plan a project in the fall. During the spring semester they build, test, and finalize their project. Some past projects have included, a mechanical pterodactyl sculpture, a T-shirt gun, and an off-road wheelchair. Students are encouraged to participate in this hands-on and inventive club.
Engineering students are encouraged to seek out internship opportunities throughout the community. These experiences can occur during the semester or over the summer. While participating in an internship, a student will gain valuable knowledge concerning the engineering profession. Our faculty regularly post internship opportunities as they arise and can act as references. Up to this point, our students have participated in internships with, Idaho National Labs, JFC, Union Wireless, and Western Geological just to name a few.
