rwestfall@westernwyoming.edu Dr. Shane Westfall is originally from Lubbock, Texas, home of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He graduated from Texas Tech with a BA in Psychology and minor in Theater Arts. He then moved to the desert and completed both an MA and PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Westfall remains an active researcher, with several peer reviewed publications focusing primarily on the effects of attractiveness stereotypes on human interaction and evolutionary factors that influence human mating. He is excited to bring his passion for research to Western Wyoming Community College, where he has become active in mentoring the next generation of psychological researchers. Outside of the office, Dr. Westfall loves traveling as much as possible and listening to live music. Otherwise, he can usually be found at home in front of a computer with his pet turtles keeping him company.
Zach Williamson is originally from Mountain View, Wyoming. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in Psychology and Philosophy. He remained at the University of Wyoming where he completed an MS and PhD in Experimental Psychology. Zach continues to conduct research on self-regulation, self-control, goals, and wellbeing. He looks forward to working with students and getting students involved in research. Away from work he likes to run, fish, and hike.
Dustan Blair was born in Roosevelt, Utah and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado (the western slope of Colorado). Dustan earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Brigham Young University and an Educational Specialist degree in school psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Dustan works as a School Psychologist in Evanston Wyoming and teaches General Psychology for Western Wyoming Community College. He is on the board for the Wyoming School Psychologist Association. Dustan has always wanted to work in a position to help others and has a passion to help children with behavioral, emotional, and academic difficulties. He is married with four children that keep him very busy. His family and the outdoors are two of his favorite adventures.
Teresa M. Klatka completed her BA in Cultural Anthropology at Stanford University, her BA and MA in Psychology at Uniwersytet Jagiellonski in Krakow, Poland, and her MS in Human Services at Capella University. She earned her credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and continues to work as both a school counselor and psychotherapist. She began teaching as an adjunct instructor at Western Wyoming Community College in 2016. Teresa’s passions for the past 22 years have included applied psychology (co-parenting with her husband their three children) and research psychology (exploring child development through naturalistic observation of their threesome). When not working professionally and expanding her knowledge about psychology and cultural anthropology, she enjoys writing, hiking, dog-walking, traveling, sewing, singing in her Church music group, sharing conversations over coffee with family and friends, and deepening her knowledge about her children’s vast and varied interests.
Dan Mayer oversees the successful operation of Region V B.O.C.E.S. which encompasses Sunrise School, Hayden Peak Academy, Roosevelt Learning Center, C-V Ranch Residential Treatment Facility, and statewide Outreach Services. Dan is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and holds a Principalship Certificate from the University of Wyoming. His undergraduate training includes a double major in Special Education for the Deaf and Elementary Education, which provided him with a strong background in psychology, special education, general education, audiology and child development. Dan established longstanding relationships working as a Special Education Director in Wyoming, coordinating programming for Uinta County School District #4 in Mountain View and Uinta County School District #1 in Evanston. Prior to joining forces with Region V B.O.C.E.S., Dan taught General Psychology at Western Wyoming College and at Eastern Wyoming College in Douglas. In addition, he served as a Regional Representative and President for the Wyoming Association of Special Education Administrators. He lives with his family in Evanston, Wyoming and travels the state spreading the word about our organization.
