COVID-19
Library Services
- Research/reference interactions will take place in person, via instant chat, Zoom, and email.
- Librarians will provide in-person library instruction, per faculty request.
- When possible, librarians will be available to provide real-time library instruction for all classes via Zoom.
- Library card registration will occur online. Checkout will occur at the library's front service desk located to the right of the library's entrance, or at the self-check kiosk near the library's entrance.
Health & Safety
Expectations of library visitors:
- Library visitors must sanitize their hands upon entering the library. Hand sanitizer is available.
- Library visitors are asked to observe social distancing.
- Library visitors should not rearrange the library's furniture as it is spaced to allow for social distancing.
- Library visitors may disinfect computers and study areas after use.
- Library visitors may disinfect computers and study spaces before use.
- Library visitors should disinfect hands before and after using time-sensitive materials such as periodicals, course reserves, or display items. These items will not be subject to a quarantine period.
- Library visitors who are sick with a fever or who are experiencing a cough or other COVID-19 symptoms are asked to stay at home.
Expectations of Library Staff:
- Staff will be restricted to the use of their own work stations, computers, and phones.
- Staff will wash hands often, not fewer than 4 instances per 8-hour shift.
- Staff will maintain social distancing between each other and library visitors.
- Staff will enforce the health and safety protocols put into place by the library and by Western.
