Western is the perfect choice for athletes, whether your passion is basketball, volleyball, soccer or wrestling. The Athletics Department at Western cultivates good people, good students and good athletes - in that order. Mustang Athletics emphasizes teamwork, grit, and determination.
Western Wyoming is Division I member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and Region 9. Region 9 schools are located throughout Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska.
Western Athletes strive to not only be successful on the court, mat or field but in the classroom as well. Our goal for our athletes is to maintain an achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher. We believe that this is imperative for success beyond Western.
Western Athletes also serve as role models for our students and younger children and are representatives of Western. They are involved in on and off campus service projects and are there in the stands supporting their student athlete family when they are not competing.
Our coaches recruit our student athletes but we still try to encourage students to be involved with athletics. Athletics offers on-campus jobs that include event management, concessions worker or student managers for our teams, we also want to see all students at our home events supporting our student athletes! Athletic events are free to attend for students.
