“I came to Western with one plan: get my degree, not to make friends, not to do research, not to be in clubs, and certainly not to be the Student Government President. So what happened? Western happened. It shifted my whole plan. I joined the Vets Club looking for people like me. And slowly I became so integrated with the college, I made friends with people half my age through academic conversations and in Western’s environment.
