Western Hires New Dean of Enrollment Management

Eric Fry Dean of Enrollment at Western Wyoming Community College

After a nationwide search and several interviews, Western Wyoming Community College has hired a new Dean of Enrollment Management, Eric Fry.

Fry’s role at Western will be to lead departments and teams focused on enrollment management and student success at Western. He will design and implement plans to strengthen student enrollment, increase student persistence and completion, and further student workplace and academic success.

The Dean serves on the Student Learning Leadership Council and will work closely with the College’s students, faculty, staff, and community leaders to ensure Western meets enrollment goals and delivers positive, student-centered services to all prospective and current students.

Fry’s prior experience includes executive management of public-private partnerships and branch campus start-ups as well as more traditional roles in admissions, enrollment, student affairs, and student success.  Specifically, he was tasked with creating dynamic programs and filling them with talented students from around the world, then ensuring those students have every tool necessary to be successful in their endeavors. Fry has experience building enrollments across all programs and retaining those talented students through program completion.

He is thrilled to partner with the fantastic students, faculty, and staff at Western. “No idea or project is too big in Wyoming and our future enrollment growth will fuel local, regional, and national progress with talented graduates in every level of industry and business. I feel blessed to be a part of the dynamic team providing these outstanding academic resources to the community.”

Fry was raised in the Sierra Nevada Gold Country and first traveled to Wyoming in the back of a brown Ford Fairmont in 1983.  After a stint in the 82nd Airborne, he attended American River Community College in Sacramento, California, and later earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Master’s in Counseling and Education Leadership from the University of Montevallo in Alabama.

Since then, Fry, his wife Tanya, and two daughters Sabine and Carmen, have lived all over the world from Qatar to Ireland to Mississippi and most recently, Texas. The Fry family is deeply enthused about their move to Wyoming and is ready to take advantage of the wonderful opportunities around town and throughout southwest Wyoming.
