Meet Your Professors
M.B.A. Western Governors University. B.S. Utah State University. Beth teaches management, marketing and business administration at Western Wyoming Community College. She is a native of Wyoming and prior to becoming a full time faculty member, Beth was an Assessment and Research Analyst for Western. She has 10 plus years of experience working in the finance industry as a branch manager, portfolio manager, credit underwriter, corporate trainer, and marketing program developer. She has three children and runs a small business with her husband.
J.D. Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley. M.B.A. University of Texas, Permian Basin. B.A. Political Science, University of California, Berkeley. A.S. Accounting/Business Transfer, Western Wyoming Community College. Steve teaches business law, business ethics, economics, international business, and practical accounting at Western Wyoming Community College. Prior to coming to Western, Steve was a partner with the law firm of Moscone, Emblidge & Otis in San Francisco, California. He specialized in business litigation, construction claims, construction defects, and ESOP cases. Steve’s past clients include the Sony Corporation of America, Jacobs Engineering, Performance Contracting Group, and The Menke Group. Steve has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1989. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, all district courts in California, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
M.S. San Diego State University. B.S. California State University, Fresno. Jim teaches accounting and finance at Western Wyoming Community College. Prior to relocating here, Jim taught entrepreneurship and accounting at the University of Idaho. He has 30- plus years of finance experience which includes corporate banking at Bank of America, registered investment portfolio manager and has led the funding efforts for two start-up companies. Jim is active in a variety of outdoor activities.
M.B.A. Walden University. B.S. University of Wyoming. Kayla teaches Personal Leadership, QuickBooks, Computer Information Systems, and Information Management at Western. She has industry experience in Corporate Management, Medical Management, and Business Information Systems, prior to her career in higher education. Kayla enjoys outdoor activities including fishing and hunting, bowling, but most of all adventures with her family.
Dr. Shane Westfall is originally from Lubbock, Texas, home of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He graduated from Texas Tech with a BA in Psychology and minor in Theater Arts. He then moved to the desert and completed both an MA and PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Westfall remains an active researcher, with several peer reviewed publications focusing primarily on the effects of attractiveness stereotypes on human interaction and evolutionary factors that influence human mating. He is excited to bring his passion for research to Western Wyoming Community College, where he has become active in mentoring the next generation of psychological researchers. Outside of the office, Dr. Westfall loves traveling as much as possible and listening to live music. Otherwise, he can usually be found at home in front of a computer with his pet turtles keeping him company.
