Musical Theatre
The Musical Theatre program offers an Associate of Arts in Musical Theatre degree with three focus areas:
Voice: Designed for students who are focused on a career in Musical Theatre Performance. Students will need to participate in private voice lessons every semester, while still taking a myriad of dance and acting classes. This degree program is great for those looking to transfer to a BFA or BM in Musical Theatre Performance.
Dance: Designed for students interested in dance and movement. Students must take five dance classes in four semesters, while still participating in voice lessons and acting classes. This program is great for those looking to have a career as an ensemble member, cruise ships/theme parks, or transferring to a BFA in Dance.
Acting: Designed for students looking to pursue a career in Acting or Theatre Education. With an acting class each semester, as well as voice, dance, and movement classes, this degree is perfect for those looking to transfer into a four year BFA in Acting or BA in Theatre.
Students gain experience and build their resume by performing on-stage EVERY semester, including summer. They also develop skills by working in the scene shop and/or costume shop, running lights and sound, and stage managing.
